Acadieville, an hour north of Moncton in New Brunswick, is Yvon's home town. It's a small village, what Statistics Canada would call a "Dispersed Rural Community". Acadieville, though, has an unmistakeable centre: there is a curve in the road that frames the beautiful local church as you approach from the west, and nearby to that is a community centre. Years ago there was a Co-op, a school, and also a Caisse Populaire, all gone now. Acadieville is an exception for my travel website, which mostly includes larger cities, but it is close to my heart and I spent a lot of time there with Yvon.

Church and Around the Village (80 photos) - This gallery includes photos of the church, the nearby graveyard, a few from inside the community centre, the memorial to the school, and the house where Yvon grew up.

Pique Nique (180 photos) - The annual church picnic features food, games, music and other entertainment, including the Coin Historique, in which Yvon, his brother Emile, sister in law Doris, and friend Mathilda used to mount a display on the history of the village. I have many photos of the event over the years, and this is a sampling of those from 1999 to 2022. The year for any given photo is implied by the photo name.

Berry Picking (46 photos) - Photos of picking blueberries in the fields to the east of the house, and also of gathering cranberries across the road. I have many happy memories of being out in the field, near the ligne d'Arthur, or in the bog à Sylvestre, with Yvette or others.
