There are a lot of photos
linked to from this page (about 49,000
for 174 destinations). However, under each location below I have a link to the "just
the best" photos, which is a selection of 10-35 images.

The evolution of this travel page is as follows:
-
In 2007 I took time off work
and travelled extensively and the site was intended as a kind of travel
diary for that year, with destinations like Dubai and Tokyo.
-
After 2007, it made sense to
continue to add in other places to which I travelled, such as Beijing.
-
I got the idea that I could
add in earlier images of trips that I had taken where the photos were
available in digital formats. I had started using a digital camera in
2002. I went back and added in those cities, such as Buenos Aires.
-
When I scanned all my
hard-copy photos, I eventually added these to the site as well. I had
some misgivings doing this, because the image quality is often quite
poor, and because there are often so few photos of any given destination
that it seemed not to be worthwhile to add in a gallery. An example of a
destination like this is Bilbao.
-
In 2015, I thought about the Canadian destinations on my site,
and decided that my list of Canadian cities was a bit arbitrary. For
instance, I had both Thunder Bay and Kingston, but did not have other
cities that were greater in population, perhaps because they are
harder to imagine as travel destinations. I decided that I would
try and add galleries for any city that is currently a Census
Metropolitan Area as defined by Statistics Canada, or which is a
provincial or territorial capital. Starting in the summer of 2015, I
began making trips, sometimes day trips with Yvon, sometimes flying by
myself, to these destinations for the purpose of adding
them into the website. An example of this kind of destination is Guelph.
-
In 2017 I started travelling
when flights and weather allowed to secondary US destinations for micro
trips, which involved packing a lot of stuff into a quick weekend. An
example of this type of destination is Baltimore.
