I first visited Winnipeg in 1978, on a western Canada tour with my sister Jane, when my sister and brother in law lived there. I can't recall much of the trip, other than that they lived on Broadway, and no photos seem to have resulted. I returned for a week in February of 1996, for a course on the Rules for Archival Description. Again, no photos, but I remember liking the city very much, despite the intensely cold weather. I found the complete lack of moisture in the air, and the brilliant sunshine, to be like being on the inside of a diamond. I went again, for work purposes, in January of 2001, and had supper at the Storm with lovely people, but no photos. In June of 2001 I was there for the conference for the Association of Canadian Archivists, and remained for an Institute the week after, with Winnipeg's pride falling on the weekend in between. Finally, a smattering of photos. I returned a third time in 2001 for work, in November, and no photos. I have not been back since, but I would like to return.
