Twice I've been to Portland, Oregon. And both visits have been far too short to get a real sense of the town. In 2007 Lois and I drove down there for a Saturday night out and about, unfortunately in pouring rain almost all the way. We had a lovely meal at a great Italian restaurant, hit a jazz club, rested in our hotel room, and strolled around on Sunday morning as best we could with borrowed umbrellas from our hotel. Because the visit was short and the weather severe, really, all there are here is a few pics that don't really give an overall sense of this smallish but interesting western city.

All photos (55 photos) - General views of the city, this was a fairly dreary day from the point of view of the weather, but I lovely day from the point of view of spending it with Lois. These are all from 2007, my earlier overnight stay in Portland in 1989 was completely undocumented, which is probably fortunate.
