    Windsor Map

Growing up in Ottawa, almost as far
east in Ontario as you could go, Windsor was a terra incognita to me,
perched so far on the western edge of southern Ontario that it was
almost American. I stayed here one
night with Rick on a drive around the Lake Erie in
1996, I remember that we went to the Happy Tap. One photo of that visit
resulted, which was of the Detroit skyline. Most of the photos in this
gallery resulted from a quick walk around the city in August 2015, before
Marcy dropped me at the airport to return to Toronto, and then from an even
quicker visit with Yvon in 2018, after we visited Detroit.

      Windsor
		City (87 photos) -
This gallery resulted from a fairly brief walk around central Windsor
with Marcy in August 2015, when she was driving me to the airport to fly
home. We walked up Pitt Street, joined Pride festivities under way by
the river, walked along the river front, and then deeper into downtown
along Ouelette Street. I feel a bit badly for Windsor, because these
aren't the greatest photos, the day turned murky and humid, and I don't
think they represent the city well. The downtown had a bit of a
despondent feel to it, dominated by the newer towers of the casino
complex. I was intrigued by the small row of tall buildings along
University from the 1920's and 1930's, you could see that Windsor was an
up and coming town at that time. It is good that the buildings still
stand, but they appear to be under-used.

      Windsor
		with Yvon (19 photos)
		- When Yvon and I visited Detroit in 2018, we dropped by Windsor and had
a little walkaround the waterfront. Though these overlap a bit with
other Windsor photos, I decided to include them here anyways.

		Kingsville (31 photos)
		- Marcy bought a cottage in Kingsville ("Canada's most
southern town") which faces Lake Erie, and I have visited her there
overnight a number of times. These photos are a selection of images from
		those visits.

      Point
		Pelee (22 photos)
		- I have visited Point Pelee National Park twice, once with Rick in 1996
and with Yvon in 2018. This gallery has photos from both those visits,
and a few others from around the area in 2018 as well.
