    Raleigh Map
I went to Raleigh, North Carolina,
in February 2018 when an alignment of weather and available seats beckoned
me there. My stay was brief. I had originally planned on spending Sunday out
of doors in the sun, and Monday in museums and whatnot, and only once I was
in the city did I realize that pretty much everything would be closed on
Monday, so I had to both take my outdoor photos and visit galleries in one
day. I did an admirable job, visiting three art museums, (which were full of
Raleighites taking advantage of the nice weather) and seeking out a number
of modern buildings. I actually switched my flight to earlier in the day on
Monday, as it was raining and cool.

      Central
		Raleigh (84 photos) -
This gallery starts at the State Capitol, moves south through the
commercial core along Fayetteville, all the way down to the Performing
Arts Centre. I went back up to the market area and the closed-for-renovation Moore
Square, and then wandered to Nash Square. North of the Capitol, I took
photos of the exteriors of a few museums, some old and gracious houses,
and the AIA building that I had sought out. The gallery ends with CAM
Raleigh and a few shots at dusk and in the evening.

      Around
the Bell Tower and Gregg Museum (24 photos)
      - This small gallery is mostly the Gregg Museum of Art & Design, which had
an amazing show on by artist Bob Trotman called Business as Usual. This
area is also a campus of the North Carolina State University (the whole
city at times felt like a campus of NCSU) and so there are a few
buildings associated with the university, including the memorial clock
		tower.

      West
		Raleigh (77 photos)
      - This gallery is mostly a visit to the North Carolina Museum of Art, and
the expansive Ann and Jim Goodnight Museum Park that surrounds it. But
it begins with the James B. Hunt Jr. Library at NCSU, and ends with the
		State Fairgrounds. Also cherry blossoms.

      Night
out in Durham and the Airport (12 photos)
      - I went to a bar called the Pinhook in nearby Durham for a night out, and
a few photos resulted. This gallery also has photos of Raleigh-Durham
		International Airport.
