Calgary Map

These galleries document two trips to Calgary: one in 2007 when Yvon and I drove through the mountains from Vancouver to Calgary, and one in 2008 when I flew out for my neice Amanda's wedding. The wedding was actually in Waterton Lakes National Park, a lovely setting, and so the more recent "Calgary" photos are predominantly out of town.

  • Amanda's Wedding (48 photos) - Some photos of family and friends before the wedding, and during the wedding and reception. I had a lousy position in the church for taking photos, so my photos of the actual ceremony are not very good, but I'm sure there will be many others around that will compensate for it.

  • Hanging in Calgary (25 photos) - A few photos of family and friend during my stayover in Calgary, including around Marcy's place, at Kris's, at Elmina's, and a trip to see the new building at Mount Royal College that Marcy was in charge of getting built.

  • Alberta drive (20 photos) - Some photos of mountains and fields from the drive to Waterton Lakes National Park from Calgary. On the return drive, we stopped briefly in the rain to see the Alberta Temple in Cardston.

  • Waterton Lakes National Park (40 photos) - These photos show the town and scenery around Waterton Lakes National Park, including buffalo, deer, and deer poo.

  • Downtown and other (68 photos) - This is mostly photos of our walk around the downtown area on a quiet holiday Monday, including parks, buildings, markets and downtown buildings. Includes views from the Calgary Tower and many of the Stephen Avenue Walk. Also includes other shots from around the city, especially the new Alberta Children's Hospital and the University of Alberta's Child Development Centre.

  • Heritage Park (45 photos) - Photos of our day at Heritage Park, including interiors and exteriors of old buildings, some rides, and quite a few photos of Elmina, Quin, Celina, Lance and Yvon.

  • Family and friends (14 photos) - Photos of friends and family and their houses (see also Heritage Park).

  • Mountains (19 photos) - A few shots from Lake Louise, and others in Banff National Park on our way to the city.
