Las Vegas and Area Map

I have been to Las Vegas twice. In 2003, I was sent there by my job at Publications Ontario. Though most of my time there was work-oriented, I did manage to stroll around and see many of the casinos (no gambling; I find it boring). I went on some rides with others who attended the work related event that I was at, and the next day rented a car and drove a bit out of town to some of the gorgeous desert scenery nearby. When I returned 21 years later with Yvon, I found that the strip and the city had changed remarkably little, especially when compared with Canadian cities. Again, no gambling, but we did do a Cirque de Soleil show and extensively walked the Strip. One of the things I found shocking was just how hard they are making it to navigate the Strip by foot. It's a very perplexing, poorly planned, city.

Visit to Las Vegas with Yvon in 2024

  • Strip in Daytime (110 photos) - We made two journeys to wander through or past most of the casinos on the strip. Also includes photos around our hotel, and a few of the various trams and the monorail. The photos are arranged from south to north.

  • Strip in Evening (47 photos) - This includes photos of the show Beatles LOVE by the Cirque de Soleil, photos of the Sphere at night, and a walk around the strip in the evening, including the fountains at Bellagio

  • Las Vegas Outside the Strip (33 photos) - Some buildings near the downtown, including the Clark County Government Center, the Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health, and the Smith Center for the Performing Arts. Also, of course, a walk up Fremont Street. Also includes a few shots of the city and area as our plane descended, one of the airport, and one outside the city as we drove to Utah.

  • Southern Utah (59 photos) - I am including Utah photos in Las Vegas as I have nowhere else to slot them. These photos show two things - the ghost town of Grafton, near Springdale, and a drive through Zion National Park.
