This gallery is predominantly Romania outside Bucharest, which was the last destination on our MittleEuropa tour in 2002. We spent time with Gerald and Yvonne, who at that time were living in Romania while Gerald worked at the nuclear plant in Cernavodă. We toured the country from the Black Sea to Bucharest. Our visit to the capital was cut short as Yvon and I were flying standby and flights were quite full, so we had to leave sooner than we had hoped.

Bucharest (9 photos) - Just a few photos of buildings in the city.

Romania (49 photos) - These photos start at Cernavodă but continue with longs drives through the countryside. Quite a few of them were taking along the highways of the country, but we also went to the ruins of a Roman town, Tropaeum Traiani, which was interesting because it was just sitting there in a field, we went to the coast of the Black Sea at Mamaia, and visited Constanta.
