Edmonton Map
I have been to Edmonton twice. In
2000 I went for a conference of the Association of Canadian Archivists, and
Yvon joined
me there briefly. I returned in 2017, and combined a photo expedition with a
visit with my sister Mary. We did a great job of exploring together, we had
Ukranian food from a food wagon on Jasper Avenue, perused the Art Gallery of
Alberta, and saw much of the city.

Edmonton with Mary in 2017
-
Central Edmonton (202 photos) - This gallery starts at the Low
Level Bridge crossing the river, and goes up the river bank to Jasper
Avenue. There are a lot of photos around Churchill Square, including a
visit to the Art Gallery of Alberta with Mary, and inside the Citadel
Theatre and City Hall. After Churchill Square, the gallery continues a
bit east of the square, into an area they are trying to revitalize
called "The Quarters". I descended into a park in the valley here. The
gallery then returns to Churchill Square, includes a brief foray into
the mall, into the financial district.

Outer
Edmonton (74 photos)
- These photos are mostly in parks, that Mary and I went for for various
purposes. In Gallagher Park, which we went to by accident, we saw some
views of the city. We walked in the morning along Henrietta Muir Edwards
Park, along the river, before visiting the gardens and greenhouses of
the Muttart Conservatory. We saw sculptures and a really pretty pavilion
in Borden Park, to the northeast of downtown. On Saturday morning we
drove to Whitemud Park in the south-west of the city to see a sculpture
called the Talus Dome; it was worth the drive. The gallery ends with the
Jasper Place Library and some buildings in Coronation Park.

Edmonton Transit and Miscellaneous (11 photos)
- A few photos of the airport, the LRT, a texting mishap and my newspaper
shot.
