Map of South-East New Brunswick

Moncton is the largest city in New Brunswick, the hub of the Maritimes, and the home of dubious attractions like Magnetic Hill and the Tidal Bore. Since purchasing land nearby in 2008, Yvon and I have spent a lot of time in Moncton and area. These photos are compiled from several forays into town, and photos of the surrounding area from several drives over several years. The organization below is mostly a random bringing together of various drives and visits to the city and area.

Moncton City

  • Moncton (59 photos) - Photos within the city of Moncton or in metro Moncton. Added to in 2010 with photos of the University of Moncton and other areas.

  • Moncton Walk in 2013 (75 photos) - While Yvon was having a root canal, I took a long walk in sunny weather, starting from the centre of Dieppe, and continuing through central Moncton into Victoria Park. There is some overlap between this gallery and the first, this includes river views, buildings along Main Street, churches and parks.

  • Two Cultural Visits to Moncton in 2015 (32 photos) - Photos While staying in St-Philippe, we went into the city twice in the fall of 2015, once to go to the newly expanded municipal museum (the Resurgo Centre) and once for a show at the Capitol Theatre. This also includes a few restaurant photos and other cultural buildings.

  • Moncton Various 2013 (27 photos) - This gallery has two unrelated groups of images. One of them is from my 50th birthday, when we took a walk in the Irishtown Nature Park and had a lovely meal at a restaurant called Idylle, and the other involves a visit to Tri-Province salvage to drop off stuff.

  • Main Street in 2016 (21 photos) - This small gallery shows a portion of Moncton's downtown not captured in other galleries, where the arena was being built in the fall of 2016. It shows a few office buildings, the train station, as well as other buildings in the area.

  • Visits in 2018 (32 photos) - This including Bob's 55th birthday dinner, a walk along the water, and a visit to the Capitol Theatre.

South-East New Brunswick

  • North and East of Moncton (60 photos) - Some of the towns and areas not far from Moncton, leaning towards the more francophone areas north and east of the city. This includes the old church at Barachois that Yvon and his mother visited, and some nice photos of Yvon and I on the dune at Bouctouche.

  • Fundy Shore at Hopewell and Cape Enrage (77 photos) - In September 2010 Yvon and I drove past Moncton to the Hopewell Rocks and on to Cape Enrage. These beautiful spots on the Fundy shore are captured in this gallery, alongside a few other shots of towns and various other things along the way and back.

  • Beaumont, Shediac, Sunrise (39 photos) - A bunch of additional photos from the area, including a drive down the peninsula where Beaumont is located, the beach at Cap-Pele, two photos of the pier at Shediac, and a sunrise at Cap-des-Caissie.
